Event details

Come down to Derwent Parade, pick up a paintbrush and make your mark on the Highstreet, by contributing to a community mural. Voted by you, painted by you.

South Ockendon residents and market traders told us they wanted us to bring colour to the area, so we commissioned a mural to be painted on the shutters at 23/25 Derwent Parade. We gathered votes from local residents and community groups across South Ockendon on style, colour and themes for the mural and commissioned an artist based on those votes.

Residents voted for flat, bright, graphic in style, using a bright colour palette and exploring the theme of Nature, Wildlife and Pets. Now residents can come along on the day and play their part by helping to paint the mural alongside artist Nat Campbell.

No need to book a place, just turn up and join in!
