Event Details:

This year at South Ockendon, get ready for arial trapeze!

Don’t Drop Me is a family-friendly, high-stakes circus theatre show, where three women tie themselves in knots navigating their relationships, challenging their self doubts and testing their limits on and off the trapeze. Expect near misses, headbanging interludes and daring stunts in this celebration of agency, teamwork and empowerment.

This performance has been specially created for Thurrock’s Big Lunches, through Start Thurrock’s partnership with Lavrak Circus, as part of the Freshly Baked commissioning programme.

Plus, a live DJ set, additional creative activities with Kinetika, Thurrock Museum, Thurrock Libraries, and sound therapy sessions with MCDWorks. There will also be a dance demonstration, physical activities, sports, games and stalls.

South Ockendon Big Lunch is being organised in partnership by Start Thurrock, Thurrock Council, Thurrock CVS, Impulse Leisure and Active Essex and is supported by the South Ockendon and Belhus Forum.

Entry to this event and the majority of activities, like bouncy castles, face painting and entertainment, remain completely free and we encourage you to come along with a picnic to share with your family and friends.

Some additional activities may incur a small cost, and refreshments such as tea, coffee, ice creams and cakes will be available to buy on the day.
